Florida Hurricane Attorney notes that the
Statute of Limitations for contractual claims against your insurer is five (5) years under Florida law. Florida Statutes section 95.11 applies to these contractual claims against the wayward insurers. The following storms from the 2005 season will have their 5 year anniversaries in 2010:
Hurricane Dennis - July 10
Hurricane Katrina - August 25 to August 29
Hurricane Rita - September 20 to September 24
Hurricane Wilma - October 24
